Father Parent leaves us a beautiful prayer to say with all our hearts;
a prayer that invites us to reflect on the riches God has given us.
During this summer season, let’s take the time to marvel at the gifts we receive from Him.
Lord, you sow seeds in my heart,
like a garden that belongs to You.
You sow love, understanding,
listening, trust and seriousness in me.
You also sow light, energy,
courage and dynamism.
You spread kindness, goodness,
gentleness, patience, faithfulness, and self-control with both hands.
You fill me with peace and joy.
You put Your intelligence, Your knowledge, and Your wisdom in me.
[…]
Lord, you are the light of my eyes,
the warmth of my heart, the energy of my being,
the clarity of my thoughts, the strength of my will,
the sharpness of my senses, the fervour of my affections.
Your presence overflows from my being
like light from a lamp.
We forget the lamp beneath the abundance
of Your radiance and luminosity. Amen.
Prayer, Father Louis-Marie Parent, O.M.I.
