“Being the language teacher in my school, I had a very special role in the various meetings and competitions we led in the school such as speeches and written articles about the importance of clean and safe drinking water.

Rosily with her students at a rally on water preservation

In the classrooms I gave instructions and education about the necessity of using safe drinking water to prevent contamination and sickness.

In the village I take advantage of my visits to the families to speak about water. In the evenings and leave days I invite the poor students to come to my house and I help them with their studies. Since I am the only Christian person in this Hindu village I am very much aware that all my life should witness to Jesus in my daily commitments.” (Rosily, India)

"For 13 years, I have shared my daily life: joys, sorrows, worries, sufferings, etc. with people who have developmental disabilities. I learned a great deal by being in contact with them. First of all, they are whole individuals who are able to make choices, share opinions and experience emotions. They need to be listened to, loved, appreciated and encouraged. They have helped me to grow as a person by their welcoming attitudes, their confidence and their forgiveness. I have had to modify my attitudes. At the beginning I wanted to do things for them; I learned to do things with them. What a difference to help them believe in themselves and in their strengths! They have unbelievable gifts that only require a little help and much love so that they may emerge. I find it fulfilling to see people grow humanly as the years go by and this has transformed my way of looking at them." (Madeleine, Canada)
