Since its foundation at Grand Falls, New-Brunswick (Canada), the Institute attracted many young women, most often nurses, teachers, secretaries. In 1952, these professions were usually reserved for young women. There was such a large number of vocations that as soon as 1954, we decided to expand outside the Canadian border. Therefore, Chile became the second land of welcome for three Canadian pioneers. Today, Chile constitutes an autonomous district led by Chileans. Throughout the years, the Institute spread successively in South America, in Asia, in Europe, in the West Indies and in Africa. Today, there are around 600 members spread in twenty countries. The members practice different trades or professions as individuals and work in various milieus. |
