Men and women who so wish can deepen their baptismal commitment by sharing the spiritual ideal of the Institute in the associate group Volunteers of God.
These Associates respond to an inner call to love and to be of service to others following the example of Jesus.
The members of the group take specific means so that their everyday life will become a testimony of love in their surrounding. Thus, these persons commit themselves to live five specific attitudes:
- to be mindful of the presence of God in the present moment;
- to avoid destructive criticism by a kind and positive perception of others;
- to refrain from complaining by welcoming all events in a positive spirit;
- to dedicate their life to the service of others whoever they may be;
- to do their utmost to build peace in all circumstances.
As well, associates are committed to performing daily acts of kindness for the benefit of others.
Volunteers of God are present in Canada, the United States, Latin America, the West Indies, Europe and Asia as well as in Mauritius (Indian Ocean). They usually belong to a team where they find support for spiritual growth.
